Announcement!

When I was in Girl Scouts growing up, we'd always sing a song whenever anyone said, "Announcements."  Here it goes:

Announcements, announcements, annnnnnouncements.  A terrible death to DIE, a terrible death to DIE, a terrible, terrible, terrible DEATH ... a terrible death to die!

Looking on it now, it doesn't seem like that great of a song, but it was a lot of fun to yell at the top of your lungs.

With no further ado (and -- NO -- we're not pregnant again!), here's my announcement.

We have a blog.  Steve enjoys it.  He even posts on it!  And, personally, I think he's funny.  So you should go read it.  And leave comments!  We still check up on our Xanga friends (namely Kurt West).  We'd love to hear from you!

Beth

OK ... so ...

... who on earth is accessing my Xanga at 3-something in the morning from California?  How weird is that?  Granted, it may be only 12-something in the morning, but still!  Who do I know there or enjoys reading about me?

If YOU are my Californian, please feel free to comment.  No, really.  This means you.  Please have a good day.  I don't feel stalked, just, well, OK maybe a little stalked.  It's OK, though.  You don't really know me.  Therefore, you can't really stalk me.  Oh, to be able to trust in the sovereignty of God.

In lighter, much more fun news:  I will be posting some exciting business news with my dear friend Casey.  We're going to be billionaires.  No.  Stop asking.  I will not give you any more details.  Maybe later today.  We'll see.  If you're good.

Enjoy the rain and flooding!  Today's supposed to be the last full day of it!

Lightning Kills

Seriously, though, do be careful with lightning.  Although, this campaign's slogan really does crack me up.  The first poster is the winner of a contest.  Learn more about lightning here.

And here's another one just because they're funny.

It's Lightning Safety Awareness Week from June 18th - 24th!!!  Are you prepared?

(P.S.  Only 10 more days until our second wedding anniversary!  We're going to Disney Wor -- I mean, Busch Gardens ... )

Xanga Cannot Rule Me ...

... but Google just might.  I love Gmail.  (P.S.  If you want an invitation, just ask!)  It's been great to use and offers so many fun features.  Here's the reason for my last post for a long time -- and possibly ever -- here on Xanga.  I love using Google Pages.  It's a super easy and fast way to do my pictures and comments as well as a normal website.  So, if you want to catch up on the latest of the Techtmann family, please click here!

Enjoy the sunshine while it's out before the rain comes.  Oh, by-the-by, our boy's walking ... go to the website to see pictures and a link to a video!

On an ending note, here's something that happened as I was organizing pictures that made me laugh.  I already showed Kurt.  He apparently didn't think it was that funny.  Ah, well.  Maybe it will give you a good chuckle.

Have a great day!  May God continue to bless you as you seek to serve Him!

A Quiz ...

... because there are too many other things I could update about.  Instead:

1. When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought?  Well, this could be the latest craze in hairstyles.

2. How much cash do you have on you?: $.37 cents (not even enough to buy a single stamp!).

3. What's a word that rhymes with TEST?: West.

4. planet?: Span it!  Oh, name a planet not a word that rhymes ... umm ... Mercury 'cause it's hot!

5. Who is the 4th person on your missed call list: "My Love" -- that would be Steve in case you couldn't guess.

6. What is your favorite ring on your phone? "Making Memories of Us" by Keith Urban (it's what I hear when Steve calls ).

7. What shirt are you wearing? A three-quarter length sleeves orange-and-other-colors striped one.

8. What do you label yourself? Beth.  Possibly Elizabeth if I'm in trouble.

9. Name the brand of your shoes you're recently wearing: Adidas.  I love my Adidas slides.

10. Bright or Dark Room?  Bright.  Who can read when it's dark?

11. What were you doing at midnight last night? Gee, that's a tough one.  I probably was goi ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

12. What did your last text message you received on your cell say?  Find me 2nite so that i can tell you about DE! (from Renee after taking Gene there for his birthday).

13. Where is your nearest 7-11? Goshen ... but the Snouffer School one has better Slurpies usually, and that's clearly more important.

14. What's a saying that you say a lot? Bagawk.

15. Who told you they loved you last?  Steve.

16. Last furry thing you touched? I don't remember -- either Mollie or Ginger (my two dogs).

17. How Much Fruit Have You Eaten in the Past Three Days? Ummm ... a piece of tomato?  I've been eating more vegetables than fruit lately.

18. How many rolls of film do you need to get developed? None.  I'd love to get some digitals printed out, though.

19. Favorite age you have been so far? 24 (this is the age I am right now).  Each year just keeps getting better and better.

20. Your worst enemy?  Commercials.  Just kidding.  My sinful, yet redeemed heart.

21. What is your current desktop picture? A beautiful photo that Steve took of flowers in a basin while he was abroad the summer we were courting (2003).

22. What was the last thing you said to some one?  "OK, Mister Mister.  Have a good nap."

23. If you had to choose between a million bucks or to be able to fly, which would you choose?  Since I can't share the flying gift, I'll pick the million dollars.

24. All-time favorite song right now?  How does that that work?  All-time favorite ... right now?  A song I like is "Trainwreck" by Mat Kearney.

25. The last song you listened to? I think it was Devon Kauflin singing "God Over All" ... Steve has the NA songs on a playlist so he can grow even more familiar with them.  Time to bust out the Mat Kearney again to get Devon out of my head.

26. What's your favorite memory of when you were little?  Spending time with my mom.

27. What was your favorite sport in high school?  Tennis.

28. What's your favorite sport now?  To play, either soccer or frisbee.  To watch, football.  (I would play but -- alas -- girls are fragile and shouldn't play football.  And I mean tackle.  What other kind of real football is there?  None, you answer.  Exactly, I reply.)

29. Did you play an instrument? The clarinet and the vocal chords.

30. Do you like kids? Yeppers.  Oh, yeah.  And I have the privilege of being a mommy to one!

31. Where do you work?  The Techtmann Homestead.

32. How many siblings do you have? None.  Well, I call my brothers- and sisters-in-law my brothers and sisters.

33. What kind of music do you like? Worship, country, some hip-hop, but anything that is musically sound and has lyrics that don't try to make me believe lies about God and the world around me.

34. Who's your best friend? Steve!  Renee!

35. If you only had one day left on this earth, what would you do? Celebrate.  I mean, after all, it would mean that either Jesus is coming back, or I was going to heaven!  What's not to celebrate?
